THE SONG OF NAMES

SYNOPSIS
Two boys grew up in wartime London. One was Martin, a lonely swottish child. The other Dovidl, a brilliant young refugee violinist from Warsaw. Blood-brothers, they roamed the ruined city, finding tragedy and triumph in the dark side of war-torn London. It was the time of their lives. When Dovidl disappeared on the afternoon of his international debut, Martin’s family were left bankrupt and bereft. Martin’s father died of grief and Martin was condemned to a life in limbo, never knowing what happened, never getting out from the shadow of this exceptional child who had ruled his youth. A tale of friendship and ultimate betrayal begins as Martin’s hunt for his long lost friend boarders on obsession.

A film adaptation of Norman Lebrecht’s Whitbread Prize winning novel, a compelling story about art, faith, friendship and betrayal, and one man’s quest for redemption, amid the far reaching impact of the holocaust.
